By IPHM – Supporting Holistic Practitioners Around the World

You’ve done it. The coursework is complete, your certificate is in hand, and you're officially a qualified holistic therapist. So… now what?

Whether you’re feeling fired-up or frozen in the headlights, you’re not alone. The truth is, transitioning from “student” to “practitioner” can feel like a leap—but it doesn’t have to be a scary one. Here are some grounded, practical next steps to help you build confidence, trust your abilities, and share your work with clarity (and zero cringe).

1. You’re Not an Impostor. You’re New.

Confidence doesn’t always show up the minute your certificate does. That’s normal. Just like your clients will be on their journey, so are you. Try this: Instead of saying, “I’m just starting out,” reframe it as, “I’ve recently qualified and I’m excited to grow into this work.” There’s power in honesty—especially when it's paired with purpose.

2. Start Practising - Gently

Before you charge full speed ahead, create space to practise your practice. Offer a few free or low-cost sessions in exchange for honest feedback or testimonials. This isn’t about undervaluing yourself—it’s about building rhythm, refining your style, and collecting social proof.

Tip: You don’t need to over explain your credentials—just hold space with care. That’s what people remember.

3. Create a Simple, Soulful Intro

You will be asked, “So, what is it that you do?” And the trick is: you don’t have to launch into a full dissertation on chakra alignment and quantum healing. Keep it warm and simple:

“I help people feel better in themselves—emotionally, physically, and spiritually—using holistic techniques like [your modality].”

Less pressure. More connection.

4. Build a Trust-Worthy Online Presence

You don’t need a fancy website or 10k followers. Just start where you are.

  • Create a basic social media profile or landing page

  • Share a little about yourself and your ‘why’

  • Post content that educates, inspires, or reassures

If you're unsure what to say, think about the kind of posts you needed to see when you first started exploring healing.

5. Trust That You Know Enough to Begin

You don’t need to know everything. You just need to show up with integrity, keep learning as you go, and hold space from the heart. Confidence grows with experience, not perfection.

And remember: the clients who find you will be drawn to your energy.

Final Thought

Getting certified is a huge milestone, but it’s just the beginning of something even more meaningful. At IPHM we believe in your ability to make a real difference. We’ve seen it time and again - practitioners stepping into their purpose and transforming lives, one session at a time.

So take a breath. Take a step. And take up space.
You’re more ready than you think.
