New Year’s Eve has a funny energy, doesn’t it?
For some, it’s loud and sparkly and full of plans.
For others, it’s quieter. Thoughtful. A little tender.
And for many of us… it’s a mix of excitement, exhaustion, hope, and “please can January be a bit calmer.”
Wherever you find yourself tonight, there is no right way to do this.
I’m a believer that new beginnings don’t have to start at midnight on 31st December. Spring makes far more sense to me. So does a random Tuesday when something suddenly clicks. But there is something lovely about this moment a collective pause before we turn the page.
So instead of pressure, let’s choose reflection.
If You’re Celebrating Quietly… You’re Doing It Right
Not everyone wants to go out, stay up late, or be “wild” tonight. And that’s more than okay.
Some beautiful ways to mark the evening (without leaving the sofa or wearing uncomfortable shoes):
A slow evening with a candle, a journal, and your favourite drink
A bath, early night, and waking up rested (underrated joy)
Watching something comforting while reflecting on the year that’s been
Setting one gentle intention instead of a long list of resolutions
Celebration doesn’t have to be loud to be meaningful. Sometimes the most powerful reset is simply choosing what you need.
A Moment to Reflect (No Overthinking Allowed)
If it feels helpful, here are a few questions you might want to sit with, no pressure to answer all of them:
What am I proud of myself for this year (even if no one else saw it)?
What felt heavy, and what can I loosen my grip on?
Where did I grow, personally or professionally?
How do I want my business to feel this year, not just perform?
And if you’ve downloaded the reflection worksheet (it’s in the files on our members only Facebook group ????), this is a lovely time to dip into it, herbal tea optional, pyjamas encouraged.
Looking Ahead: Your Business, Your Way
As practitioners and training providers, many of you will be thinking about your work this year.
Will this be the year you:
Feel more confident being visible?
Stop second-guessing your value?
Build something sustainable, not exhausting?
Get clearer on where you’re actually going?
You don’t have to have all the answers tonight. Or tomorrow. Or even in January.
But you don’t have to do it alone either.
Something New We’re Growing Together
As we step into the new year, we’re really excited to share that IPHM is growing in new ways—ones that support you not just as a practitioner, but as a business owner too.
We’ve launched a Business Growth Page, partnering with Gemma from No.17, to offer ethical, clear, human support around visibility, direction, and growth without burnout or losing your values along the way.
So many incredible practitioners are brilliant at what they do, yet feel overwhelmed when it comes to how to grow or what to focus on next. This space is about bringing clarity, confidence, and grounded guidance at your pace.

Please Don’t Forget This Part: You Matter Too
Before we rush into goals, plans, and productivity, this is your reminder to make time for yourself this year.
Rest is not a reward.
Space is not selfish.
Connection is not a luxury.
Which brings me to…
Come and Join Us
Our IPHM members-only hub is here for connection, encouragement, shared experiences, and those “oh thank goodness, it’s not just me” moments.
It’s a place to:
Reflect without judgement
Ask questions without feeling silly
Be seen, supported, and reminded of your impact
If this year is about feeling more connected to your work, your purpose, and yourself, you’re very welcome here.
However you’re spending tonight, I hope you’re gentle with yourself.
You’ve made it through another year and that, in itself, is something lovely.
Here’s to fresh starts (whenever they arrive), quieter wins, meaningful growth, and doing things in ways that actually feel right for you.
Happy New Year from All of us at IPHM
