An introduction to sound

Have you explored how sound can effortlessly release tension, benefiting you at physical, mental and emotional levels and supporting your wellbeing practice? This workshop offers an introduction to the use of sound for our health and happiness, as well as welcoming those who’ve already fallen in love with it!
Used to promote healing for hundreds of years and across many cultures, sound waves are frequencies that can create sympathetic reactions on a cellular level, releasing blockages and allowing us to relax very deeply. This session will introduce you to the power of sound on both an experiential and theoretical level.
Beginning with intention setting to anchor and orient us, we’ll lie down, get as comfy as possible with blankets and yoga props, and then let the beautiful sounds of Himalayan singing bowls, crystal bowls, chimes and handpans wash over us, setting our minds free to drift on the waves of sound and our bodies to surrender to the pull of gravity. After we’ve awakened, Craig will open up a discussion on our experiences and on the use of sound within wellness. He’ll give a short introduction to the theory of sound meditation, offering perspective to ground our experiences and answering individual questions.
Please note that this workshop is not suitable if you are pregnant or have a pacemaker. Please ensure that you arrive at least five minutes before the session is due to start, as we won’t be able to admit you if you’re late in order to prevent disruption.
