Manual Lymphatic Drainage Pre & Post Op 1 Day Accredited Training Course

This one-day Pre & Post-Operative Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) course is designed for qualified massage and complementary therapists who wish to develop their skills in providing safe and effective lymphatic drainage treatments for clients before and after cosmetic or elective surgery.

The course covers the principles of the lymphatic system and Manual Lymphatic Drainage, including the role of the lymphatic system, lymphatic pathways, appropriate pressure and direction, treatment sequencing and techniques used to encourage lymphatic flow.

Students will learn how to adapt treatments for pre and post-operative clients, with a focus on supporting the body before surgery and helping to manage common post-operative concerns such as swelling, fluid retention and discomfort. The course also covers client consultation, contraindications, precautions, recognising when treatment should not be carried out or when medical advice is required, and appropriate aftercare.

Training is delivered on a 1-to-1 basis, providing individual guidance and plenty of hands-on practical experience. The morning focuses on theory, safety and treatment protocols, followed by practical training with a live model in the afternoon.

Students receive a pre-course theory booklet, a comprehensive Pre & Post-Operative MLD manual, and an IPHM-accredited certificate upon successful completion.
