Lyme disease is a vector-borne disease and a zoonosis (an infectious disease affecting humans and many animals). Transmitted by the bite of hard Ixodes ticks, it is a bacterial disease, due to borrelia (Borrelia burgdorferi, narrowly defined, predominant in North America). In almost 90% of cases, it is effectively treated with antibiotic therapy for 2 to 4 weeks. Untreated, it can evolve over several years, classically passing through three more or less differentiated stages, sometimes interspersed with periods of latency and which may overlap for certain symptoms. After a possible dormant phase, the disease can, in an acute or chronic manner, take more cutaneous, articular or neurological forms. But in herbal medicine, it is possible with the right dosage to make a preparation with the two plants below in order to overcome this pathology.
